A Wellesley Institution
For over a century, Maugus has been more than a place to eat — it has been the heartbeat of this community. A table where neighbors became friends, and where every meal felt like coming home. That spirit lives on.
The Maugus name has graced Washington Street since the early 1900s, making it one of the oldest continuously operating dining institutions in the region. Officially established in 1937, it became synonymous with the kind of honest, generous cooking that keeps people coming back generation after generation.
